The Go-To Girl at Red Orange Design
If you need to make miracles happen on a tight deadline, Jolinda Smithson is your best resource. As the Business Development Director at Red Orange, Jolinda never loses her cool when faced with unusual requests or seemingly impossible time constraints. In fact, she rises to the occasion and meets the challenge with optimism and perseverance. She listens to her client’s needs. And she finds a solution. That’s something her clients have come to expect from her.
Learn it. Do it. Teach it.
Although she enjoys digital detox time, Jolinda makes a conscious effort to learn new technology. She’s the one in the office who is always keeping up with the ever-changing industry tools and sharing her knowledge with others. She helps the team run smoothly by continually introducing new systems and processes to better serve clients. In her role as an Adjunct Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University, Jolinda stays abreast of innovative technologies and prepares the next generation of graphic designers for business success.
Tops in Her Field, Jolinda Uses Her Talent For Good
Jolinda graduated magna cum laude in 2002 with a BFA in Communication Arts and Design, Illustration and Digital Imaging, from Virginia Commonwealth University. She held the women’s javelin record at VCU where she was a member of the Track and Field and Powerlifting teams and the recipient of the first Iron Ram award.
With a heart for service, Jolinda strives to use her talent for good. Each year, she participates in the VCU CreateAthon onCampus in which students and mentors provide non-profit marketing services on a pro bono basis. She has also served the community through Habitat for Humanity and HandsOn Richmond.
A Creative Spirit with a Passion for Your Business Success
When you walk in the door at Red Orange Studio, you’ll probably notice Jolinda lost in her work, listening to music online or in a discovery session with a new client. She admits she could spend all day playing with text, colors and shape, but truly enjoys building relationships and meeting new people. If she touches your sweater, don’t be alarmed, she can’t help herself when it comes to exploring textures, patterns and other fun design elements. Once you get to know her, you’ll discover she’s generous with her creativity and eager to put it to work for your business.
