Tips for Young Designers

Calling all Young Designers!

Are you looking for an internship, job or new opportunity? Hey, we’ve all been there. There are a few things you can do that will help your chances of being considered for that next opportunity. Some of this is common sense, but we see it over and over so we thought we’d share our best advice.

  • Don’t have your mom (or dad or auntie) inquire about internships, jobs or to call and sign you up for anything. Email or call places yourself. It’s the least you can do to demonstrate you’re an employable adult.
  • When you apply, name your resume and cover letter with your name and the company name not just (“resume” or “cover letter”)
  • Do not sign up someone for your personal portfolio newsletter – unless they directly asked to be on that list. Nobody wants spam.

We are rooting for you!
