The Enrichmond Foundation

A long time Red Orange client, The Enrichmond Foundation has been serving the Richmond community for almost four decades. The nonprofit is unique in that it supports over 100 local volunteer groups and special initiatives, whose primary interest is to maintain, preserve or improve Richmond’s public recreational resources. The Red Orange and Enrichmond teams have worked together over the years on projects ranging from high level branding to complicated marketing pieces for community events they produce around town. They returned to Red Orange in need of a refreshed logo, digital ads and print materials to promote the evolution and grand reopening of the 17th Street Farmers Market in Richmond’s historic Shockoe Bottom neighborhood.

Collaborative Approach

We love problem solving for nonprofit clients with limited resources, always careful to honor their budget while creating effective and impactful solutions. We worked with Enrichmond to uncover their vision and determine the most important needs for the project that also aligned with the allotted budget. We started by refreshing the 17th Street Farmers Market logo and created a robust logo system and color palette to equip the Enrichmond team with the visual direction and graphics needed for the farmers market reopening campaign and beyond.

Solution

We then provided large signage for use during the phases of construction when events had to be relocated down the street. As part of their reopening, we provided web banner ads for their digital campaign, event signage and hanging banners and decal designs they used to promote the market opening on local GRTC buses. The nonprofit has since requested additional logos for internal use, as well as for events hosted at the Farmers Market such as the Richmond Dog Festival and Bacon Festival.

Outcome

With a fresh new visual identity and digital materials, the Enrichmond team is able to execute some of their marketing and promotional events in-house. The organization doesn’t need to spend money on each and every marketing piece. As part of this long-term partnership, Enrichmond leans on our studio for high-level design and campaign directions, then we hand over elements to their team to carry out their marketing plan. Since the reopening, we have created designs for apparel, digital advertising, annual reports and beer labels for a special edition brewery collaboration. With each new solution, the nonprofit is better positioned to reach their audience and make a bigger impact, while remaining a good steward of their budget.
