Red Orange Studio is a purpose-driven creative agency and Certified B Corp based in Richmond, Virginia. We partner with nonprofits and mission-aligned organizations to help them do good, make a difference, and build meaningful community support through smart marketing.
We’re hiring a Content Marketing Specialist & Social Media Manager to own organic content strategy, editorial planning, writing, publishing, and reporting for a small roster of clients in the nonprofit and B2B space. You’ll work directly with clients and our creative team—and you’ll own the content strategy, copy, scheduling, and performance insights.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll own the content marketing engine for clients:
- Build and manage monthly editorial calendars for organic social, blog content, and email marketing
- Lead organic social media strategy (content pillars, themes, content mix, CTAs) aligned to client goals
- Write strong, on-brand social copy (hooks, captions, post variations, light scripts/outlines as needed)
- Coordinate with designers by providing clear content direction, deadlines, and copy that supports production
- Schedule organic posts using approved tools and workflows
- Plan, write, and/or edit blog posts and publish in WordPress
- Optimize blog content using Yoast SEO, including meta titles/descriptions and basic on-page best practices
- Plan and write email marketing campaigns/newsletters that drive engagement and action
- Own monthly reporting and performance analysis, including key insights, recommendations and resource allocation
What We’re Looking For
Required
- 8+ years of content marketing experience, including organic social strategy and content creation
- Strong writing and editing skills; ability to match brand voice quickly
- Proven experience building and executing editorial calendars across multiple channels
- Deep knowledge of best practices and social media tools for nonprofits and B2B organizations
- Experience writing and publishing blogs in WordPress
- Experience with Yoast SEO (or similar) for metadata and on-page optimization
- Experience writing email marketing that drives engagement (newsletters/campaigns)
- Strong analytical skills: can interpret performance data and translate it into clear next steps
- Highly organized, deadline-driven, proactive communicator
- Comfortable working in a collaborative agency environment with designers and account managers
Bonus
- Experience with nonprofits, associations, healthcare, education, or purpose-driven brands
- Familiarity with GA4, Looker Studio, HubSpot, Loomly, Sprout, etc.
- Website content strategy and/or web copywriting experience
