Who is responsible for B Corp Certification?

B Lab is the global nonprofit organization that is responsible for the B Corp Certification. Through a rigorous assessment process, B Lab evaluates companies across key impact areas such as governance, workers, community, environment, and customers.

By certifying businesses that demonstrate a commitment to creating a positive impact on society and the planet, B Lab helps shape a global movement of companies dedicated to redefining success in business.

How B Corp Changed Red Orange for Good

Becoming a B Corp has changed us for the better because we now have written policies for our handbook and programs that are woven into our culture. We have new tools to measure our impact throughout the year, with a company dashboard that brings transparency and accountability.

We received a score of 98.4 on the B Impact Assessment (BIA) administered by B Lab. Businesses must obtain a score of 80 or more to become certified and most businesses sit at around 50. The highest possible score is 200 points.

Through our PIP Nonprofit Award, Red Orange Studio aims to donate $1 million in pro-bono services to nonprofit organizations in Virginia by 2030.
